Only 35 minutes north of the Kansas City airport (MCI), right at the crossing of i29 and Highway 36. The city is nestled into rolling bluffs as it sits just east of the Missouri River.
Historically known as the headquarters and start of the Pony Express, as well as where the famous outlaw, Jesse James, was shot and killed.Today it is also recognized as the host city for the Kansas City Chiefs Training Camp in the Summer.
A diverse range of location options in a destination with four distinct seasons. St. Joseph once had more millionaire residents per-capita than anywhere else in the US, leaving the city with a wide range of historic mansions and elaborate building structures (especially architecture styles from the 1880s - 1940s). This time period was followed by the American Dream and suburban life with numerous craftsman and farmhouse style homes that now align scenic parkways with old-growth trees, making it a perfect location for that Midwest-Americana feel of a simpler life outside of the big city. Geographically, St. Joseph is on the eastern bank of the Missouri River in the rural Buchanan County, with bluffs to its north and south that contain a number of hike and bike trails. Much of the land in Buchanan County not in the bluffs are used for farms and ranches.
